Another study linking sugar with cancer has been published. The study done in Sweden was published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute and linked sugary drinks with an increased risk of gallbladder and biliary tract cancers.
The truth is that the study cannot directly link sodas with cancer. Excess body weight and type 2 diabetes have both been linked with gallbladder and biliary tract cancers and sugary drinks can lead to both. More studies must be done to verify the link.
Even if the study can’t be proven to directly link soda and cancer, we know that obesity is linked to many health risks. If you struggle with your weight, now is the time to start gaining control. Small steps can lead to big results. Remember, you didn’t gain it overnight, don’t expect to lose it overnight.
